Modeling: Cow Head!

So for the first week of class we are supposed to work on modeling a cow head. I had quite a struggle at first because i felt that i couldn't get my proportions right and kept re-extruding and expanding the head over and over again. Till my lecturer pointed out to me that i could make changes to the cow head after that when i get to the fine tuning part.

I figured the half of my cow's head looked fine but i had this PROBLEM. I had unintentionally tilted the head. Opps! It probably happened when i accidentally rotated one of the vertex points i never meant to select at the start. Which gave me THIS(picture below), when i mirrored it.

So what i did to solve this was to click on the vertex on two ends and use the scale tool to get them as close as possible without overlapping to join the head into one next with the merge vertex tool. It kind of feels like i'm zipping it up, just like that...

and the end result is this...

and finally with the smoothing,

Its not exactly like the one in the tutorial but its a cow:)

First exercise: CHARACTERIZATION

Name: Kingo
Tagline: The egoistic lion
Catchphrase: You need to floss (or Mr Douglas would like to give, "I'm ready for my claws up")
Backstory: The vain, self-absorbed, pampered star attraction of a circus who likes all things shiny and expensive. He starts off on a journey into the wild in search for the "tooth doctor" after he broke one of his tooth in an accident.
